Vision 2020

Vision 2020 was introduced by our late PM, Tun Dr. Mahathir. We are only 12 years before year 2020, and thus time passes very quickly. Are we on track to progress or are we moving backwards? We can make the difference if we want to, whether to be a developed country or just an average country.

We should strive to be a world class citizen. This means first class citizens that is aware of each owns responsibility. Although we are born with different race, we should discuss issues such as religion, race, politics, economics and environment with knowledge and not feelings.

A developed country with develop public amenities such as roads, markets, toilets and schools are essential. We should have a web of efficient public transport that is hassle free. Commuter and busses are maintained properly. Other amenities such as telephone, water, electricity can be maintained so that the service is efficient at a lower cost for the people.

We should also have a first class mentality. We should be courteous to others, polite when speaking and follow the 5 nation pillars; faith to God, follow the King and Constitution, Lawful and polite.

The environment is also one good thing to maintain. We should have a proper garbage disposal and do recycling. Rivers should not be a source of pollution but scenic view. Agriculture can be done to eliminate foul smells. Although we can import commodities such as vegetables and poultry, we can produce our own goods and save money for ourselves.

People from other countries will respect and admire us if we strive and struggle to achieve vision 2020. We will feel more united and relaxed beyond 2020, because we have achieved something of our own effort.
